Welcome Home George & Laura Bush!!!!

It was an amazingly beautiful day for welcoming home our former President. We, however got a late start & ended up standing in line for an hour & twenty minutes. We finally made it to the security check & they let Kenny & Kole through & then they stopped it. We're thinking great that's it, we're not even gonna get in. Then the secret service start telling the security people to do this & do that, & they start taking down the entire security gates. Then they tell everyone to just come on in. It was weird. They had expected 20,000 people & there were still at least 10,000 more people outside the gates. Anyway, the Gatlin brothers sang (there from Midland too), Lee Greenwood sang, and Rodney Adkins sang. Then they flew Bush's airplane right over the crowd. Of course the kids thought that was the coolest part!!! Bush finally arrived & gave a very honorable speech. It was a very cool thing for the older kids, however the younger kids were NOT impressed. Tate ask me about the President & I explained that he was not our President anymore & that we have an new President, his reply was, "He is not pregnant anymore?" Hmmmm.... A little confused. lol! Here are some more pics from the Celebration! Wonder what George W. Bush is doing now. I think I would sleep for a few weeks, read the stack of books I've been wanting to read, and watch movies in the comfort of my own home!

BUGS, Japanese, & G.W. Bush.....

We have officially made it through 5 days of the 2009 stomach bug!!! And for those of you that have had it, my heart goes out to you. lol. Out of our 9..... 6 down 3 to go. I have prayed it away for those last 3, (hopefully) cause it is truly miserable. I will spare you the details. Anyway..... Kenlie has finally found her voice this week. She has gone from saying only a few single words to talking in complete sentences!!!! The only problem is we think it's all in Japanese. lol... I wonder if they make a book to translate baby japanese for parents to understand. Tomorrow President Bush is "Coming Home".... for those of you that don't know he & Laura are from the big West Texas city of Midland, TX. So the schools get out at 1:00 tomorrow & there is a big celebration with live music & activities, followed by a speech from the President himself. Of course by then he will now longer be the President of our country. I pray for our new President Obama to believe & receive Jesus Christ & that the CHANGE that he brings about will come straight from the top!! Remeber to pray for all the leaders of our nation.... Blessings to you all... Have an incredible week!!

The Reality of God

Today we started the Reality study that was taken from the Experiencing God study. Sid & I had done the study years ago & it was a life changing experience that brought us to follow God and move to Grace Chapel in Leiper's Fork, TN. God would challenge us to grow & learn through the next 5 years as we served and worshipped at Grace Chapel. We built life long relationships & were touched by so many people there that we now consider family. God led us back to West Texas and to our families and we have had 3 amazing years here. Now that my head is not stuck in a book I realize that through every trial throughout these past few years I was surrounded by God's love & He was right there encouraging me & using me to touch the lives of others. In addition to just pulling me through everyday he placed some mighty women of God right by my side to help me through the adventure of Nursing School and spoke to me through them many times when I just felt I could'nt continue. As I read through the introductory session in this new study I was amazed at how many of those same feelings I had 8 years ago reappeared. Suddenly I felt as though God was saying, "Get ready Chickie....follow me." So as Henry Blackaby says, It is time to be more ALERT & ready. If you sense God at work, drop everything & be attentive. I will be anxious for nothing, but I'm ready to follow where my Father leads.

"Show me your way, Lord, and lead me on a level path." Psalm 27:11

"Make Your ways known to me, Lord; teach me your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of salvation; I wait for You all the day long." Psalm 25:4-5

38 Hours 'Til I'm Official...HOPEFULLY!@?!@?!@?

So....I took the dreaded NCLEX this morning!!!! That's the boards for RN in case you don't know. Whew!!!!!! Way hard!!! So now I wait 'til friday morning to find out if I passed. I'm counting down the hours. lol ~~~ Cool thing about becoming a nurse is there are so many options, the NOT so cool thing about being a nurse is not knowing where you want to work & trying to decide where God wants you to work. Hard decision for this girl! Pray that God paints a clear picture for me & QUICK! Ha! Ha! I love change, but it's not always easy. So Amy...Here's one to add to your "WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO PORTRAY YOURSELF AS A GOOD MOM" list. #26 Do not graduate from Nursing School, diagnose your child (who has a huge bruise on her head) with a "Little virus", finally take her to the Dr. after 6 days & find out she has a upper respiratory infection & a double ear infection. We all make mistakes RIGHT?!?!?
